1. What is PTE Core?
PTE Core is a Pearson computer-based English language test. It measures speaking, writing, reading and listening through tasks based on the English people use at work, in the community and in daily life.

Is PTE Core completed on a computer?
Yes. PTE Core is a computer-based test taken at an authorized test centre. You speak into a microphone and complete the reading, writing and listening tasks on screen.
Is PTE Core the same as PTE Academic?
No. They share Pearson's computer-based testing approach, but PTE Core focuses on everyday English and is designed for Canadian migration purposes. PTE Academic is aimed mainly at academic study and other pathways that specifically accept it.
Does PrepMyPTE issue an official PTE score?
No. PrepMyPTE provides preparation, practice and estimated feedback. Only Pearson issues official PTE Core results after an official test.
